Odom '17 Leads Girls' Varsity Basketball Over Holderness

1/16/2017 1:50:00 PM

Senior Ari Odom put on a show Saturday night and led her team to victory over a persistent Holderness team. In the first few minutes, the team's defense and Odom's impressive offense put Middlesex ahead by as much as 15 points. After the long journey to Middlesex, Holderness started to heat up in the last four minutes of the half, closing the margin to just 9 points. In the second half, Holderness lit up the floor, draining threes to make it a 3 point game. Middlesex continued its defensive effort, but had a harder time finishing on offense. Freshman Carly Tilson did a great job covering Carter, who made 36 points for Holderness. Odom went to the line late in the game to keep Middlesex ahead by 3. Stephanie Li made a jumper to make it a five point lead, and the game was over! Kudos to our seniors for their fantastic leadership on the court. Odom ended the game with 28 points and 12 rebounds, and Lydia Paddock was a quiet force with 15 points and 9 rebounds. The Zebras face Nobles away on Wednesday, and then Dana Hall at home on Saturday.
