Middlesex got off to a flying start in the first half against St. Mark's and came away with a well-earned 4-0 home victory to open the ISL season. Thatcher Adams worked hard up top and Cole Schmitz and Matt Leigh posed a threat on the counter for St. Mark's, as the effective distribution from Darren Pike put Middlesex under pressure numerous times. Liam Sloan created the first goal, as he played Josh Quirk in to open the scoring in the sixth minute for a clinical finish. James Sanderson had a touch and finish goal in the box in the 26th, and Liam Sloan scored on a direct free kick in the 33rd minute for a 3-0 half time lead. St. Mark's regrouped and worked extremely hard in the second half as the game became stretched, but Middlesex closed the game out as Josh Quirk earned a penalty kick in the 76th minute for Liam Sloan to finish out the 4-0 score line. The Middlesex backline did a solid job limiting chances, and Liam Sloan did a great job linking the midfield to attack.
