Middlesex came out with more focus and energy against an athletic Brooks team. Although the Zebras controlled a bit more of the play, Brooks stayed in the game, leading to a 6-8 halftime score in favor of Middlesex. The second half was a different story. The Zebras stepped on the field determined to improve play at both ends. The difference proved to be the little things- ground balls, draw controls, poise, smart off-ball movement and shot selection- were all key elements to a very successful second half. The Zebras went on a scoring spree, notching ten goals, and the defensive unit nearly shut out the Brooks' attackers, allowing only two goals. Eight different players scored and freshman Alex Fehnel made her debut after an ACL recovery. The Zebras look forward to gearing up for the ISL Tournament this weekend.
