The Middlesex Girls' Varsity Tennis tennis team lost its match to Groton Saturday 6 - 9. Rainy conditions in Groton, Mass. pushed the contest indoors.
From top to bottom, the Zebras were off to a strong, determined start against their neighbors to the north. With sets swept by Caroline Reynolds '17, Laura Kaye '17, and Emma Pratt '16, the overall match was tied, as the teams set out to battle in doubles. Despite an aggressive lead at #2 and #3, the Zebras were ultimately outpaced by the competition, losing both sets as well as the overall match in a close, hard-fought competition.
Our players look forward to nicer weather this week and hope to bounce back against Pomfret on Wednesday.
