In their first win of the season, the Middlesex Girls' Varsity Tennis team blanked Lawrence Academy 15 - 0. From top to bottom, our players secured an early, aggressive lead and maintained their position with grace and poise throughout the match.
Led by #1 singles player Sophia Corning '17, the Zebras captured all 12 of the available singles points. Leyla Hotamisligil '18, senior captain Abby Meyers, Helen Lasry '18, Caroline Reynolds '17, and Laura Kaye '17 all swept their singles matches and secured the win prior to the start of the doubles matches.
The depth of the 2016 squad was visible today as every member of the roster earned at least one point for the team. The Zebras also swept the three doubles matches behind the strong teamwork of Sophia and Leyla, Caroline and Laura, and Emma Pratt '16 and Maud McCole '19.
The team will take this positive momentum and put in two hard, focused days of practice before facing the Rivers School here again on our home courts.
