Middlesex traveled to Milton Academy on Halloween Monday to make up a rain-delayed match from October 1st. The visitors did a nice job of focusing despite only warming up for 15 minutes, and the first half was a very evenly played and entertaining match up of two technically gifted and high tempo teams. After a 0-0 score line at the half time interval, Milton capitalized on two defensive errors in the first five minutes of the second half to go ahead 2-0, both goals courtesy of their main threat Jack O'Brien, who chipped in with a goal and assist. Middlesex controlled the latter phase of the match, and created three fantastic scoring chances in the final five minutes, two for James Sanderson and one for Josh Quirk. However, the Milton keeper pulled off three incredible saves to preserve the 2-0 win. Middlesex left the field proud of the effort that saw them outshoot Milton by 10-8 and unlucky not to capitalize on their late chances. They will regroup and bring a lot of confidence to their massive showdown with Class B rivals Nobles on the road in Dedham on Wednesday.
