From the first whistle it was a physical battle between two very competitive teams. The Bishops of Brooks and the Middlesex Zebras played a high tempo and intense battle for possession and to get onto the scoreboard first. Ali Joseph '20, once again, came up big for Middlesex with outstanding saves, thwarting a 1 vs. 1 breakaway. Middlesex juggled its lineup around in order to maximize its speed and technical abilities and Caroline Hughes '18 played outstanding in the midfield scoring Middlesex's only goal of the game with an assist from Ellery Winkler '19. Middlesex went into the half up by one, but the Bishops were relentless and played tough defense and their keeper came up with some fantastic saves to limit the Zebras to one goal. Finally, midway through the second half, the Zebras conceded a goal from a quick counter attack by a fast offensive line to slip the ball into the net. Both teams hunkered down and fought for the go-ahead goal, but the battle ended in a draw. Middlesex will take the weekend to recover and regroup before hosting Governor's Academy on Tuesday at 2:30PM which will be yet another challenging I.S.L match-up.
