Middlesex took to the road for a hard-fought 4-0 victory at Thayer on the last Saturday match of October. Cole Whisnand hammered home for Middlesex in the 12th minute from a corner kick, but Thayer was resolute in their defending for the rest of the half. Thayer keeper Havlicek turned away numerous scoring chances and corner kicks to keep the score at 1-0. In the second half, Josh Quirk served a pinpoint ball for a glancing headed finish from Whisnand in the 54th minute. Twelve minutes later Haydn Herrema scored the pick of the goals with a left-footed strike that rippled the side net from the edge of the 18 to make it 3-0. Reed Foster buried a loose ball at the top of the box late in the match to complete the scoring. Eoin Sullivan stood out for his ball winning and exemplary work ethic for Thayer, while Patrick Shiel was tough in the back as well. Gavin Garrity-Rokous anchored the backline for Middlesex, and Liam Sloan was excellent at dictating the tempo in the midfield for the away side.
