The inclement forecasts held off and allowed St. Sebastian's and Middlesex to play a thoroughly entertaining and intense Parents' Weekend match-up on the grass in Concord. After a scoreless first half, the chances increased in frequency until Pat Mulrenan put the Arrows into the lead in the 73rd minute with a 35-yard wonder strike that found the back of the net literally seconds after he had stepped up from the left back slot to strike the crossbar with an equally impressive hit from 40. The goal brought the Middlesex attack to life and the final 15 minutes was packed with scoring chances for the home team. James Sanderson gained the byline and hit an early service that Cole Whisnand forced into the net with a 50/50 challenge on an attempted clearance of the cross to knot the score at 1-1. Liam Sloan and Josh Quirk had excellent chances to steal the points, but the St. Sebastian's backline stood strong and denied any hopes of a winner on the day. The match was full of fascinating matchups, highlighted by the Soree Kaba and Jacob Charles in the midfield, James Sanderson and Raffi Barsamian on one end, and Adama Kaba and Justin Krayer on the other end. It was a hard-fought and well-played match marked by respect and good sportsmanship.
