Middlesex hit the road again on Wednesday to take on Dana Hall in Wellesley. The Zebras took the field with confidence and determination and worked steadily to generate good offensive opportunities. Finally, about 15 minutes into the half, Middlesex scored its first goal by a well-placed shot by Ellery Winkler '19 with an assist to Shannon Wing '17 beyond the Dana keeper. Middlesex, led by strong composure by Shannon Wing '17 in the midfield, continued its momentum by the moving the ball well in the final third to move the compacted Dana defense and to open up opportunities. Finally, Maddie MacMaster '18 found the back of the net for Middlesex with a strong shot from outside the 18 into the top corner of the goal and an assist to Shannon Wing '17. Middlesex then went into the half up by two goals. Having learned the danger of a 2-0 game on Friday, Middlesex channeled its energy and focus in the second half and won many needed 50/50 balls, playing to feet to possess, and communicating well on defense to preserve the shut out. Middlesex netted its third goal on a strong penalty kick by Isabelle Fuchs '17 and then finally secured the fourth goal of the day by Ellery Winkler '19. Middlesex will use this momentum to take on perennial I.S.L powerhouse, Nobles, at home on Saturday October 22nd.
