"The leadership exhibited by these two, can not be exaggerated, whether it was the match, the weeks practice, or the entire season so far . From battling obstacles to overcoming the odds, these captains led the charge," said head coach Dave Gutbrod.
In addition, the contributions of Jivan Purutyan, Ted Pyne, Marcus Coward,David Wong and Dante Gutbrod were outstanding.
Jivan worked against a tough opponent to finalize the pin in the second period. Ted Pyne out-maneuvered his opponent in a close match winning 2-1. Marcus Coward was a takedown machine, grabbing five takedowns before getting the second period pin. David Wong overcame a second period scare and shoulder injury by returning to win by a score of 11-6. Dante Gutbrod smoothly executed the pin in one minute one second.
The team dedicated their 10th win to the son of assistant coach Dan Barber who recently underwent surgery. The team sported "J's" on their shoulders and head gears and presented him with a Middlesex Wrestling shirt with his name on the back.
Next up, the team travels to Lexington Christian Academy on Saturday, facing both LCA and Portsmouth Abbey.
