Middlesex (8-9) overcame a five point halftime deficit to beat Thayer at the Cage on Wednesday. Despite falling behind 34-29 in the first half Middlesex rallied behind Austin Dorsey's game high 19 points, 16 of which came in the 2nd half. Middlesex threw a block party on the defensive end of the court, led by Senior co-captain Hamza Usman's five blocks, juniors Dorsey and Jack Lyne added two each. Senior co-captain Ben Cherington had nine points and was instrumental in the comeback with five second-half steals. Lyne also contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds.
Middlesex took its first lead of the game 42-41 with just over 10 minutes to go on a Mike Doherty '18 layup. Dorsey made three free throws to make it 45-41. Dorsey then had a 3-point basket sandwiched around a Cherington steal and layup and a Lyne layup. The second three was with 1:10 left to get the lead to double figures 58-47. Senior Austin Perry controlled the game with eight assists, five points and three rebounds. Senior Khari King had six points off the bench.
