With high energy and intensity, the MX girls welcomed Governor's Academy for the kickoff to their ISL season. Great defense and a fiery spirit put MX in the lead throughout most of the first half. Senior Ericka Ekhator dominated both ends of the court. Complimented by the consistent foul shots of junior Peyton Madigan and the unrelenting play of junior Lydia Paddock, the girls closed out the first half trailing 25-18.
The second half saw a burst of energy from a talented Govs team. Senior Ericka Ekhator continued her strong play along with junior Lydia Paddock, whose gritty rebounds and two buckets got Middlesex back in the game. Ultimately the team fell 49-30, but the team is excited and ready to take on BBN at 6:15 on Friday.
