10/24/2015 6:39:00 PM

St. Sebastian's hosted a really competitive match between two young rosters on Saturday, with the visiting Middlesex squad earning a 2-1 win. The first half saw a dangerous Arrows attack starting from Raffi Barsamian in the back, as he surged forward into the midfield and hit dangerous diagonal balls to Adama Kaba on the flank. Over the course of the half, Middlesex's Jivan Purutyan began to win a number of crucial battles in the midfield and transition into the attack of Liam Sloan and Gavin Tasker. The first goal of the match came in the 34th minute, as Jacob Charles accelerated past his marker and uncorked a shot to the back post that forced a magnificent save from the Seb's keeper, Matt Eldridge. Nick Buonanno was the quickest to the rebound and slotted it home for the halftime lead.

In the first fifteen minutes of the second half, St. Seb's came back with great energy and thrust forward until they found Adama Kaba open at the back post to calmly finish and knot the score at 1-1 with over a half hour remaining. With less than 20 minutes left, Reed Foster sent a ball towards the box that deflected off of his marker and nestled into the far side of the net for the 2-1 Middlesex lead. St. Seb's put every ounce of effort into going forward and applied pressure, while Middlesex missed two open net chances to seal the match at the other end. The final whistle ended a riveting competition where both teams played with great spirit and enthusiasm.
