Boys' Cross Country Defeats Thayer and Tabor

The Middlesex boys' cross-country team enjoyed another victorious Saturday, outracing Thayer and Tabor Academies in beautiful and mild autumnal weather on the streets of Braintree. Viraj Deokar '16 led the field through the short and fast course, finishing in a brisk 14:35, with senior co-captain Gavin Fujimori coming in third overall at 15:22. Will Fletcher '16 and Connor Page '19 followed in 15:40 and 16:16 respectively, and the remainder of the varsity -- Jack Yoon '16, Rock Hoffman '16 and Ryan Ewing '17 -- finished in under 17 minutes to secure two decisive wins and push their overall record to 7-1.

Middlesex runners took the top seven places in the JV race, also earning two impressive wins. Luke Collins '18 seized the lead early and extended it as the race progressed, cruising to the finish as the overall winner in 17:12. Ted Pyne '18, Jack Pelletier '17, Eric Gourdon '16, Chad Arle '17, Alex Scott '17 and Kiran Tremblay '18 rounded out the JV scorers.  

Both teams now enter the heart of the season poised for continued improvement and further success in the challenging meets that lie ahead.
