As the midseason mark neared and fall's colors were on full display, the boys' cross-country travelled to North Andover to face off against Brooks and Rivers Schools. The late afternoon air was crisp and windless, and the course was firm and dry as the runners came to the line. The pack was mixed and the pace fast as racers past the mile mark, but the Middlesex harriers pulled away in the final two miles to finish 1-2-3 and earn two clear victories for the team.
Viraj Deokar '16 cruised to the finish in 17:25, with fellow senior Gavin Fujimori following close behind at 17:43. Third place went to Will Fletcher '15 in 18:06, followed by a Rivers runner, then Rock Hoffmann '16 (18:57), then a Brooks runner, then Ryan Ewing '17 (19:17). Middlesex also took the top three places among the junior varsity runners, with Ted Pyne '18, Jack Pelletier '17 and Eric Gourdon '16 leading the charge.
The Zebras pushed their overall record to 9-1 as they awaited the arrival of Groton Day for their first home event.
