Middlesex traveled to St. Mark's Wednesday afternoon, to take on a deep St. Mark's squad. While senior Katie Bull won her match in three games at #2, things looked grim for MX elsewhere and St. Mark's won the next three matches at #4, #6, and #7. At #7 Kaylie Joo fought valiantly, but went down in a close fifth game.  St. Mark's needed one more match to clinch the victory and MX senior Mikaela Salvesen-Quinn was down two games to love at #3. However, Mikaela came back to win her match in five games with some strong hitting to the back, while Zarena Jafry hit some key boasts and drops to prevail in four very close games at #1.

Thus, it all came down to junior Mari Harrema's match at #5. Mari had two match balls in the fourth game, but her St. Mark's opponent prevailed in that game with some clutch play. It mostly went St. Mark's way in the fifth game, and Mari was down 10-7 and facing three match balls. Faced with this deficit, Mari played three excellent points, and in the end prevailed on her fourth match ball, 14-12 in the fifth game, giving MX the win 4-3 in as close a squash match the Zebras have faced in recent years.
