On Saturday afternoon, the Middlesex Boy's Varsity hockey team was defeated by a score of 2-1 at BB&N. Middlesex outshot their opponent 45-29 but failed to capitalize on some outstanding opportunities.
All the scoring took place in the first period. Middlesex struck first when Eric Shaw deflected a Lorne Carter point shot at 6:53.
BB&N got that goal back quickly on a turnover in the Middlesex defensive zone resulted in goal being scored from the high slot at 7:23.
BB&N scored the game winner on the power play when a shot from the top of the right circle was deflected at 17:28.
Middlesex returns to action at Portsmouth Abbey on Wednesday, Jan. 14.
