The Middlesex team found itself once again outmatched by Groton on Saturday.
A highlight for the Zebras was senior captain Olivia Dewey's performance at #1 singles. Despite an wrist injury, Olivia played some of her best tennis this season and split sets with her competitive opponent. Senior Charlotte Flint at #2 singles was off to a strong start, scoring for Middlesex with her first set. However, her opponent came back strong and ultimately took the second set.
Junior doubles team Katherine Khoury and Anna Seigel had a stellar match in which Anna's fierce net game and Katherine's powerful, strategically placed ground strokes led them to victory and another point for the Middlesex team.
The final score of the doubles match of freshmen team Caroline Reynolds and Laura Kaye was 8-9 and the tie-breaker score was 9-11, showing how close this match was and how hard this team fought keeping spectators on the edges of their seats with each point.
The team looks forward to making a comeback against Pomfret on Wednesday.
