The Zebras came out sluggish after a trip to BBN on a hot humid
Saturday.
The Knights jumped out to a 5-2 lead, due to some sloppy Middlesex play at both ends of the field. The Zebras clawed their way back with four goals to end the half, thanks in part to the defensive unit as low defenders Juliana '14 and MadWin '14 each picked up an interception on the BBN clear and found the back of the net on a one-on-the keeper. The Zebras, however, still trailed 6-7 at the half.
Following a short and simple halftime break, Middlesex returned to their style of play for the second half. The starting attack unit scored five unanswered goals in less than five minutes of play and then continued the scoring spree with nine goals to the Knights one in the next 16 minutes. BBN never gave up and scored two goals in the final minutes to cut the deficit.
Ten different players notched goals for the Zebras, KB '15 logged in some minutes on the center draw, and Diana '15 earned a key caused turnover within one minute of entering the game.
While the Zebras valiantly came back in the second half, the team will look to regroup and start fresh against Brooks on Wednesday, May 14.
