Boys' Varsity Tennis Defeats St. Mark's in Season Opener

4/6/2014 9:02:00 PM

The weather was not ideal--cloudy, windy, and raw--but the boys fought hard to earn their 10 points against the Lions of St. Mark's.

The match was a characteristic early-season match, complete with mishits, double faults, and errant shots, by both sides. Despite only winning one point from doubles, Middlesex worked very hard. Jon Lathrop, playing in his first ISL varsity contest, earned the full two points in singles. Junior David Fan, and seniors Chase Parisi and John Luke Tittman fought some very difficult matches and earned crucial points for the team. Junior Tim Wing won convincingly at six singles and senior Anthony Bergren-Salinas worked through some early set backs to finish strong.

Middlesex looks forward to a hard week with contests against St. Paul's and Nobles.
