Even extra innings could not settle things between Middlesex and Milton Academy in ISL baseball play on Thursday. The two teams played to a nine inning 1-1 tie as the game was called due to darkness.
Milton took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning. Three singles loaded the bases with no outs and a wild pitch gave the Mustangs an early lead. Middlesex starting pitcher Kai Long avoided further damage by striking out the side.
Milton starter Eric Mohl threw no hit ball into the 5th before Max Novick stroked a two out single to put runners on first and second with two outs. Mohl ended the threat by inducing a fly out to right to keep the score at 1-0.
Middlesex tied things in the bottom of the sixth on a two out wild pitch that scored Aaron Swenson, who had walked.
Both teams threatened in extra frames but neither could push across a run and the umpires called the game after nine innings. The result makes Middlesex's record 1-1-1 after three games.
