On Friday Dec 5, the team traveled to Milton to begin the Wrestling Season. Great anticipation had been mounting at the start of the year and the team performed very well.

Beginning at 106 lbs, the newcomer, Naomi H. began her career with a forfeit as the Milton wrestler bumped up to 113 lbs.  This netted the team 6 pts and was a great start for this promising young athlete.  

Of the next five matches, three were forfeited by Middlesex and another first year wrestler Emily Y., and Khoa P. had tough matches resulting in pins for Milton.
Thus, the table was set.  Milton 30 Middlesex 6.  Somewhere in the background the coaches heard the chant "let the games begin". Middlesex was off to the races, winning six of their next seven matches.  Five of these were pins.  Fantastic matches by Gavin F., Gabe S., Jivan P., Nick A., George M., Steven Z. were witnessed by all.

It was a fantastic showing by the school and the fans from Milton, as well as Middlesex, were equally impressed.  Tucked in all of these wins, junior David W. who has been steadily improving, displayed quickness and athleticism against the senior captain from Milton and was pinned.  It did however, lay the groundwork for his path of practice into the next two months as his performance will definitely gain momentum.

Unfortunately, the last match began with the score Middlesex 39 Milton 36.  The Milton competitor knew what he had to do in order to secure the win, and he would not be denied.   Will B., put up a valiant fight but his opponent secured the pin to give Milton the edge 42-39.

It was a great competition for ISL wrestling and prep beginning of the year dual match. Next up, MX will face Nobles on Wednesday, December 10 at 3:30.
