With rain pelting down, winds gusting and temperatures dropping, Middlesex took the field to challenge the I.S.L top- runner, Rivers School. After a strong initial start, Middlesex could not hold onto their poise as they battled both the elements and a very fast, dynamic Rivers team.
Rivers got onto the scoreboard quickly after a defensive breakdown and never turned back. They controlled most of the game with the Zebras battling, but unable to find their team rhythm. Going into halftime, Middlesex was down by two goals, but Rivers opened the game up with two quick goals in the second half. Middlesex just could not rally to get onto the scoreboard before Rivers netted two more goals during the Zebra's offensive press. It was not the Zebra's best team performance and certainly not their day. However, they are a resilient group who will work hard to earn their first I.S.L "W" on Saturday against Thayer Academy in Braintree at 2:00 PM.
