Middlesex hosted a dynamic Nobles team on Saturday, October 18
th during a festive Parents' Weekend. Throughout the first half, Nobles carried much of the possession as the Zebras worked to find their shape, rhythm and to adjust to the high pressure of the Nobles' offense. The Bulldogs were first to get onto the board after a misplayed clear into the Zebra box. However, the Zebras are a resilient group and they battled back to even the score off of a beautiful through ball by Isabelle '17 to Shannon '16 up top. Nobles continued to press and notched their second goal after pouncing on a rebound in front of the net. Middlesex came into halftime down by one.
The Zebras came out determined in the second half and shared more of the possession. Despite some strong offensive running by Jac '17 up top, strong defensive performances by Natalie '15 in the middle and Corina '18 in back, the Bulldogs found the net two more times to end the game up by three. Pauline '17, in her inaugural start in goal, was fantastic as she made crucial and gutsy saves all afternoon. Middlesex will rest over the long weekend and regroup on Monday to prepare for another tough I.S.L. opponent when they host Rivers on Wednesday, October 22nd at 3:15 PM.
