Girls' Soccer Outlasted by Dana Hall

10/21/2014 7:59:00 AM

After a long weekend of much needed rest, Middlesex travelled to Wellesley to take on Dana Hall on a beautiful fall afternoon. Middlesex was a little slow coming out of the gates, but they secured their first goal of the day off of a fantastic shot by Kiara '17 and a well placed through ball from Natalie '15. Dana Hall quickly rallied to secure their first goal and the two teams continued to share possession throughout the first half. Shannon '16 scored her first of two for the day after taking on a defending and firing one beyond the Dana Hall keeper. Middlesex found itself in the lead heading into halftime. During the break, the Zebras committed to being more proactive in challenging and winning the balls to find their rhythm and take control of the game.

Middlesex followed through on this objective and scored two beautiful goals, the first again by Shannon '16 and the second by Kiara '17 on the wing with the assist from Mari '16. However, Middlesex struggled to hold onto the lead and allowed two more Dana Hall goals, the last one being minutes before the whistle blew to end the game. Middlesex will continue to work hard to secure a more favorable outcome and to get the scoreboard on their side. The Zebras will use the next two practices to prepare for I.S.L powerhouse Nobles on Saturday, October 18th at 2:00 PM.
