The Middlesex boys' varsity hockey team hosted a talented Rivers team on Saturday, January 25 for a 4:30pm ISL match up. Harrison Markell was the lone goal scorer of the nigh,t as the Red Wings defeated the Zebras 5-1.

Rivers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period and extended the lead to 3-0 in the second period. Harrison Markell responded to the three-goal deficit however, by sending a long bouncing shot towards the Rivers' net which eluded their goaltender and cut the scoring gap by one.

 In the third period, Rivers added two more power- play goals to come away with a 5-1 victory.
 
Derek Goguen closed out the evening with 31 saves.

Middlesex will host St. George's next on Wednesday, January 29. The puck drops at 4:30pm.
