The boys' varsity hockey team launched a major offensive thrust against the Pingree School on Saturday, January 11. They finished the game with 58 total shots on the Pingree net, thus coming away with a hard-fought 2-2 tie.
Middlesex was first on the board with a goal from senior Justin Ferrieira-his 10th of the season at 9:50 of the first period . Pingree responded with a power-play goal on a tip in to the left of Middlesex netminder Tristan Collins moments later however to tie the game at 1-1.
Pingree scored just 30 seconds into the third period to take a 2-1 lead. The visiting team held onto the lead until the final seconds of the game but junior defenseman Harrison Markell was able to slid his shot along the ice with 39 seconds remaining in the game for the equalizer.
Middlesex finished the week with two wins and a tie and heads into a three-game week facing BB&N at home and Roxbury Latin and Groton on the road.
The tie puts Middlesex's overall record this season at 4-4-1.
