On a beautiful spring afternoon, Middlesex hosted the Eagles from Barrington High School in a competitive non-league game.

The Zebras took a quick and early 3-0 lead with Jeanie ’13, Maggie ’13, and Clare ’13 finding the net consecutively. However, Barrington held tight with quick goals on the transition to even the score 3-3. Middlesex took back control of the game with some strong draw controls and defensive plays from Maddie ’14, Cici ’14, and Clare ’13. The Zebras then went on to score seven goals in 8:00 minutes to head into halftime 10-5.

At the half, Middlesex decided to make some defensive adjustments in the second half to mark Barrington’s top player out of the game. As a result of Hannah’s ’16 strong defensive effort, the Zebras capitalized on their quick ball movement and offensive poise to score eight more goals in the second half.

In total, seven different Middlesex players found the back of the net for the Zebras.  Sarah ’14 turned in a solid performance in net and was the leader in ground balls for the day.

Middlesex has a quick recovery to gear up for another league game against rival Groton on Saturday, May 4.
