The Zebras traveled to Byfield, MA to take on ISL rival Governors Academy.  It was the final game for the Govs and the game was critical for league placement so the energy was high for both teams.
 
Clare '13 led the force in the first stanza with crucial draw controls to give the Zebras offensive opportunities.  Middlesex took a lead, but the Govs continued to capitalize on free position shots to keep the score close.  The Govs did even up the score, but the Zebras took control in the second half and stayed on top for the 13-7 win.  
 
The defensive unit made several spectacular plays in the game including a terrific double team by Dakota '14 and Jeanie '13 and outstanding one-on-one defense by both seniors Jeanie '13 and Giules '13.  In the midfield, Isabel '13 made several jaw-dropping draw controls while Maggie '13 captured many successful clears from goalie Beeko '14 and brought the ball into the offensive end.  Beeko '14 finished with eight saves on the day and an amazing penalty kill around the crease.  At the offensive end, Maggie '13 and Irene '13 combined for eight goals on the day and Dakota '14 earned five assists.  
 
Overall, it was a terrific day for the Zebras.  Middlesex will gear up for the final match with St. George's on Friday, May 24th.
