Middlesex prepared itself for a physical battle against a relentless Brooks opponent on Wednesday, May 15 in Concord, MA.
The start of the first half was dominated by shared possession and caused turnovers for both teams. Middlesex was able to capitalize on three scoring opportunities early in the half to go up 3-0, but in typical fashion the Bishops rallied with two consecutive goals to close in on the Zebra lead. Middlesex secured two more goals to go into halftime 5-2.
The battle for possession continued in the second half as each team stepped up their physical play, disciplined defense and offensive push. Middlesex held the ball for a better part of the half to manage the clock after scoring and conceding two goals. It was team effort on all parts of the field with particularly strong performances by Maddie ’14 and Sarah ’14 in goal.
Middlesex will gear up for another ISL battle on Friday at home against the Winged Lions of St. Mark’s at 4:30pm.
