Zebras Fall to Knights, 8-7

5/13/2013 10:48:00 AM

The Middlesex girls' varsity tennis team dropped a very close match to ISL rival BB&N on Saturday 8-7.  With dark skies looming, the two teams warmed-up during a light sprinkle, but the weather would hold off to complete the match.

Middlesex led after thew singles portion of the match 7-5.  Led by senior Anita Kodali, senior Nikita Kodali and junior Charlotte Flint, the Zebras were able to open the two point lead.  Despite not feeling 100%, junior Olivia Dewey battled back to win her second set in a tie-breaker.
The team needed to capture only one of the three doubles matches, but a strong BB&N team displayed poise under pressure and went on to sweep the three remaining matches and win the overall match.  While disappointed with the final outcome, there were many positives to take from the match.  The team continues league play this Wednesday by traveling to Brooks School.
