The girls' varsity tennis team defeated Rivers School 12-3. Despite missing two of our senior leaders, the team played well from the first points and powered their way to a solid home victory.
The girls captured nine of the 12 singles points behind the strong play of captain Emma Sattertwaite Muresianu '13, Olivia Dewey '14, Charlotte Flint '14, Sophia Corning '16 and April Simms '14.
The team went on to sweep the three doubles matches. For the second match in a row, each member of the team earned at least one point for the squad. Emma and Charlotte teamed up to win the #1 doubles with terrific net play. Nell Gallogly '14 and April battled back in their match to take the 8 game pro-set in a tiebreaker. Capping the victory for the Zebras, Katie Bull '15 and Bess Butler '13 came back from two games down to win their set 8-6. We thank all the parents who came out to support the team.
The team takes a break from league play by hosting Andover Academy on Wednesday. We will look forward to having our whole team back on the courts as we prepare for a busy week.
