4/25/2013 10:32:00 AM

A three run first inning for Lawrence Academy proved to be the difference in their 4-2 win over Middlesex in ISL baseball action on Wednesday, April 24. The loss dropped Middlesex's record to 2-4.
Lawrence reached Middlesex starter Zach Steer for three runs on five hits in the top of the first. Steer settled down after that, allowing a run on four hits over the next three innings and keeping Middlesex in the game. Joe Frye and Kai Long combined for three innings of scoreless relief out of the bullpen.
Middlesex scored its two runs in the bottom of the second. A one out single by Max Novick was followed by RBI singles by Kai Long and Drew Coash. Middlesex advanced runners to second and third with two outs in the third and fourth innings but could not score against tough Lawrence righthander Aubrey Solomon.
The Middlesex offense was led by Coash, who had three hits, and Steer, who had two. The Zebras return to action on Saturday when they host undefeated and league leading Rivers. Game time is 2:00 pm.
