The girls' varsity tennis team brought home their third victory of the season on Saturday by defeating Nobles 9-6. As has been the theme for the season, the depth of the squad was crucial in securing the win as five of the six players earned at least one point for the team.
The Zebras were able to build a 7-5 lead after the singles portion of the match thanks to strong play by Sophia Corning '16, Anita Kodali '13, and Charlotte Flint '14. Captain Emma Satterthwaite Muresianu '13, April Simms '14, and Olivia Dewey '14 also played well with Olivia splitting sets. The final result was not settled until the doubles teams took to the court. The number two pairing of Emma and Anita secured the win for Middlesex by winning their set 8-2. The number one pair of Olivia and Emma soon followed with another convincing win of 8-3.
Despite the chilly conditions, the spirit of the team remained high throughout the match. The team would like to thank all of the parents who made the trip to Dedham to show their support. We return home on Wednesday to battle ISL rival Milton Academy.
