The varsity boys' hockey team tied St. George's in their final regular season game 4-4 at home.
Senior Will Kreitler opened the scoring on the power play with assists going to AJ Lucchese and Justin Ferriera. Ferriera later added a shorthanded goal and a power play goal before the end of the first period. St George's responded with two goals of their own however, to end the stanza with Middlesex leading 3-2.
The Dragons added two goals late in the second period to take the lead but Chris Jellison tied it up at four apiece when he scored with :31 seconds to go in the period.
The third period was all Middlesex as they dominated in all three zones and put close to 20 shots on the St. George's net. The Zebras' efforts were thwarted however, by the outstanding goaltending efforts of the Dragons' netminder.
The team closes out the season with a record of 15-6-5 and will advance to the NEPSIHA playoffs for the first time since 2007. As the sixth seeded team, they are scheduled to play third seeded Brooks on Wednesday, February 27 at 3:00pm in Andover, MA.
