Middlesex hosted the Landmark School and Nobles and Greenough on Wednesday, Dec 11. And with great determination and stamina, the team wrestled to its first victory against Landmark by a score of 46-24.The score however, did not reflect the close matches wrestled by both teams.
Wins were posted by Jivan '16 who was superb with a second period pin; captain Jordan '14 with a second period pin, sophmore Gavin '16 jumped up to 152 lbs wt class and recorded a first period pin while Nick '16 also came out strong with a second period pin. Alex '15 made his debut at 195 lbs and secured the match win with a pin. Steven '15 worked throughout the match to score bonus points for the team score and ended with a major 11-2 decision at 220 lbs. Chris '15 and Khoa '16 both contributed forfeits to make the final score 46-24.

In the final match of the day, Middlesex dropped a very close match to Nobles by a score of 43-33. This is what the experts call a one-match turn around. It was a very well wrestled match- especially for the early season.
Gavin '16 secured a pin at 145 lbs. Follwed by a very close match by Jordan '14 who narrowly lost by a score of 6-8.
Andrew '16 came up with a big win at 160 lbs. His match was a good sign of the sophomore getting back into shape. Sophomore Nick '16 took on the senior captain at 182 lbs. The match showed great competition between two athletes. The Nobles senior finished with the win, but the crowd enjoyed a good match-up.George '15 was back in the lineup at 195 lbs and was extremely fast with his take downs.His speed and execution of moves proved too much for the Nobles wrestler as he posted a score of 9-2. Steve '15 notched a pin at 220 lbs to finish off the matches for the day.
Khoa '16, and William '15 both contributed forfeits and despite Nobles receiving three forfeits themselves, they edged past the Zebras by a final score of 43- 33.
