Middlesex held on for the their first victory of the 2013-2014 season by beating Boston Trinity 65-61 on their home court. A couple of late three-pointers- one by senior co-captain Aaron Swenson(11 points) and one by junior Hamza Usman(7 points)- negated the three- point effort by Boston Trinity's Nisve Zouzoua.
Middlesex jumped out early behind the hot shooting of junior Ben Cherington. Cherington made three first-half three-pointers and led MX scorers with 11 at halftime -finishing with 13 for the game.
Senior co-captain Jon Siu shook off a slow first half and finished as MX leading scorer with 17 points. Middlesex received strong contributions inside as well as the center postion combined for 15 points, nine of which were by sophomore Jack Lyne and six by senior Peter Beatty.
Middlesex returns to action at home
on Friday at 4:00pm against a Wheeler School team that won 20 games last year.
