Middlesex got off to a slow start conceding two goals in the first 10 minutes of the game against a talented Lawrence squad. However, Middlesex regrouped quickly and battled back to score a beautiful goal off of a well placed cross by Irene '14 to Shannon '16 on the back post. From there Middlesex went into the second half carrying the play.
The Zebras won the 50/50 battles and started to execute their disciplined system of play. This composure paid off when Shannon '16 repeated her goal scoring by heading another remarkable cross by Irene into the net. The score remained 2-2 as Middlesex continued to carry the play with several more dangerous balls through the Lawrence defense. However, Lawrence capitalized on a small defensive breakdown to go up by one with fifteen minutes left in the game. Middlesex quickly regained control but was unable to put another in the net.
Although it was a disappointing finish, Middlesex will look to channel its determination against another I.S.L rival Brooks on Saturday October 5
