Middlesex got off to a bit of a slow start against Rivers on Wednesday, but as the first half progressed, Middlesex started to find a bit more rhythm, but not without giving up two goals on two defensive team breakdowns.
The Zebras regrouped at the half with the goal to both gain and maintain momentum for forty straight minutes. There were flashes of this goal in action with some great defensive plays by Shannon '17 and Caroline '16 and Kate '15 in back, but Middlesex still conceded two goals to Rivers as the Zebras succumbed to two more ankle injuries.
Nonetheless, Middlesex was able to generate some dangerous opportunities with Shannon '16 and Natalie '15 and Ali '14 up top, but the Zebras were unable to find the back of the net. Middlesex will continue to work towards putting together the complete team game for eighty minutes as they host Thayer on Saturday at 2pm for another tough I.S.L match-up.
