The Middlesex boys' varsity hockey team rebounded from an earlier loss this week to defeat Portsmoth Abbey 6 -0.
Chris Jellison opened the scoring at 15:37 of the first period with assists going to Brian Powers and Justin Ferreira. Middlesex extended the lead in the second period on a power play goal when Ferreira walked out of the left corner and scored with a wrist shot to the short side. The next two goals of the game were scored by senior Will Kreitler working in unison with his linemates AJ Lucchese and Chris Jellison.
AJ Lucchese made it a five goal lead with a beautiful wrist shot at the 8:53 mark of the third period. Ferreira tallied the final goal of the afternoon with assists going to Eric Shaw and Billy Olson.
Derek Goguen earned his second win of the season in goal by picking up his first shutout of the year.
