It was a fast and furious battle in the final game of the season for Middlesex and St. George's, and both teams left everything on the court with great leadership from the seniors from both programs.  It was a back and forth affair for Middlesex was led by its senior captains in the first half, as they scored 17 of the team's 21 points.  Atiya '12 contributed 8 points on drives and cut backs along with 6 points from Elizabeth '12 and a long three-pointer from Kathryn '12.  The teams went to the locker room with St. George's holding a slim lead of 22 to 21.

In the second half, St. George's built up a small but insurmountable lead on the play of their senior center who had 13 of her 17 points in the second half.  Middlesex countered with the strong play of Clare '13 who had all of her 12 points in the second half.  Elizabeth '12 added 5 and Kathryn '12 chipped in four points as well, but Middlesex was never able to close the gap, sending St. George's to the line as they sealed the game on foul shots.  

Both teams gave their fullest efforts, and we were proud with the efforts of our seniors on their last day in a Middlesex basketball jersey!  Thank you Kathryn '12, Elizabeth '12 and Atiya '12 for four terrific years on the Middlesex Varsity Basketball Team!  Your leadership, energy, spirit, and integrity will stay with us for years to come!
