Traveling up route 128 north on a Friday afternoon is a certain challenge and when you add public school vacation week; you have near gridlock. As the bus slowly made its way north to the Pingree School, it was clear that the boys were going to arrive at the rink with little time prior to the scheduled drop of the puck. Without the benefit of their pre-game routine and looking flat, the boys watched Pingree quickly jump out to a two goal lead in the first five minutes of the game.
Recognizing that their opportunity to earn a bid to the New England Prep playoffs were slipping away, the team started to get on track with a power play goal from senior Robbie P assisted by senior Blake C and junior AJ L. Pingree quickly matched the MX goal with their own power play goal however and extended their two goal lead. Junior Will K drew the Zebras within one with helpers from AJ L and senior Ford D. The second period was well played by both teams ending with the score tied at three. Robbie P netted his second of the night assisted by juniors Chris J and Will K.
Pingree came out flying in the third period regaining the lead one minute into the final period and extending it five minutes later on a power play goal. With senior Mike P pulled for an extra skater, Will K got the Zebras to a one goal deficit when he roofed a back door pass from AJ L who had received a feed at the blue line from Chris J.
