Middlesex bounced back after a devastating buzzer beater at BBN Friday night and held on to beat Pingree 62-59.
Junior co-captain John Siu led the way with 31 points and 10 rebounds. Junior co-captain Aaron Swenson contributed 6 points and 8 assists. Senior Jobeir Blake had 9 points and had another tremendous defensive effort.
The Middlesex lineup had 8 different players score and had significant contributions from its bench in junior Peter Beatty(5 points and 5 rebs), sophomore Ben Cherington, and freshman Jack Lyne(4 points).
Siu did most of his damage in the first half with 20 points, including three of his four three-pointers, leading MX to a 38-34 halftime lead. The junior co-captain combination of Swenson to Siu connected on an electrifying alley-oop dunk that brought the MX crowd to its feet.
The second half was a seesaw battle to the end, Siu capped off his career high performance with a big offensive rebound in which he was fouled and made the two free throws with :17 seconds left in the game. MX forced a deep 3pt shot from Pingree on the last possession to secure the victory.
