The boys' varsity basketball team picked up their second victory of the season on Friday, November 30 in Concord, MA when they took on Boston Trinity. Junior Co-Captain John Siu led the Zebras with 25 points including 4 three pointers. Siu had 13 points in the first half when MX got ahead by as many as 14 before taking the 32-23 halftime lead.
MX maintained a double figure lead throughout most of the 2nd half. Nick Widen had 8 points and double figure rebounds. Senior Jobeir Blake had 7 points and 7 rebounds. Junior Peter Beatty had 5 points and ignited the crowd with a bizarre 3 pt play when he got fouled and shot the ball backwards over his head that went off the backboard and into the basket. Junior Co-captain Aaron Swenson had 12 points. Sophomore Ben Cherington and junior Hasani Figueroa scored their first varsity baskets. Freshman Jack Lyne and James McGrath made their varsity debuts.
MX (2-0) returns to action with their first league game vs Governors on Wednesday at 4:30 at home.
