Middlesex boarded the bus to Andover determined to redeem our close loss to Pomfret. Unfortunately, a victory was not in the cards for us today.

We came up against a physical and highly skilled Andover team who scored quickly in the first half with a successful penalty shot. They went on to score two more unanswered goals from outside the 18 before Irene DeMoulas ’14 stole the ball from an Andover defender to net our first team goal of the season. Unfortunately Andover was able to score another goal before the first half ended putting the score at 4-1.

At halftime, we gathered our resolve and took to the field with confidence, but Andover scored two more unanswered goals. Despite the lopsided score, Middlesex was resilient and never gave up and continued to attack the Andover goal with some viable opportunities by Dakota Foster ’14, Shannon Ryan ’16, Irene DeMoulas ’14 and Cici Frattasio ’14.

Middlesex will get back to work for the next two practices as we gear up for our first league game at home on Saturday.
