Boys' Cross Country Keeps Undefeated Season Alive

10/17/2012 9:54:00 AM

On Saturday October 12, the undefeated Middlesex boys' cross country team hosted Groton School for their annual dual meet.  In the interest of an early departure for the long weekend, the varsity and JV teams ran together in a single race, though they were eventually scored as two races.

Once again this week, the race ended in a blur of white-and-cardinal shirts streaming across the finish line, as the MX boys took places 1-7 (a shutout!) in the varsity match-up, and places 1-5 in the JV race. James Randon, the winner of the race, cruised to the finish line in 18:06 with the "pack" of O'Toole, Howe, Deokar, Fletcher, Estrada, and Stewart right on his heels.

Max Rifkin once again topped the JV field, getting strong support from the rest of the "law firm" - Papadellis,Payne, Welch, and Phinney.  Other standout performances included strong new PRs from Eric Dolce, Matt McKenna, and freshman Jake Sanford.

The cross country team will return to their home course on Saturday, October 20 against Class A Nobles. The gun goes off for the boys' race at 2:30pm.
