Governor's Academy traveled from Byfield to Concord for a wet midweek fixture and an exciting match up.

The first half was very even, as Gov's showed tenacity and organization. Led by DiFronzo in the midfield and Stafford and Scarfo up top, they high pressured the Middlesex midfield and back line with success in the opening 45 minutes. After the restart, Middlesex started to take control of the match by getting the ball on the floor and passing to feet with greater success. This helped to create a number of chances to score, but only one ball would find the back of the net on the day. This came from the head of junior Sean Pensavalle at the back post in the 50th minute from an assist by  sophomore Daniel Parnell.

Freshmen Gavin Tasker and Jivan Purutyan combined well in the midfield and Julian Bishop worked hard up top for Middlesex as well. Michael O'Keeffe registered his first shutout on the year, as his backline was anchored by senior Phil Skayne and sophomore Brian Powers.

The Governor's squad was well organized and enjoyed spells of possession while creating a number of chances to tie the match down the stretch.
