Captain of First Team hockey for two years, he played hockey for five years, First Team football for two years, and baseball, crew and tennis. "A great tackler and powerful blocker" in football, he played on two undefeated teams. At Harvard, he played football and was Captain in 1944. He also played Harvard hockey, and in 1947 played on the Geneva team which went to the National Championship finals.
