Was star lineman on the First Team football team for three years, including 1936 undefeated season. Played First Team hockey and soccer for three years, and First Team baseball in 1938. At Harvard, won a major "H" as the dominant force on a strong defensive line. Was instrumental in holding Navy, ranked 3rd in the nation, to a 0-0 tie.
